Content Types
KnowledgePoint360 websites feature both independent and third-party sponsored content intended for US healthcare professionals. Independent content is created by our Editorial staff, and is free from the influence of commercial supporters. Third-party sponsored content is supported with funding from a commercial interest and complies with FDA regulations or policies pertaining to the marketing of pharmaceutical agents or devices.

We provide full transparency by disclosing the nature of all content developed and housed on our websites. Pages are designed to differentiate independent from third-party sponsored content and advertisements, and all pieces of content are clearly labeled to identify their funding source. Dissemination of timely and clinically relevant information to our target audiences is important to us. To ensure that our websites feature the latest scientific data, KnowledgePoint360 creates original independent content based on a rigorous needs assessment that identifies practice gaps and barriers. Our comprehensive needs assessment includes a review of accepted guidelines, surveys of practicing clinicians, expert interviews, and a review of the clinical literature. This analysis is used to shape content that directly addresses identified practice gaps.

Independent content on our websites is free from the influence or control of pharmaceutical and/or device manufacturers. An Education Council featuring preeminent thought leaders and educators guides independent content development. Independent content is authored by healthcare professionals and/or our Editorial staff, reviewed by members of our Education Councils, and peer reviewed by an impartial board of physicians representing our target audiences. Authors’ clinical and/or academic affiliations and medical training, financial disclosures, and potential conflicts of interest are provided for all content developed. Financial disclosures and potential conflicts of interest are also provided for content reviewers. Sources for independent content include but are not limited to peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals, thought leaders, medical association meetings and congresses, and government reports.

As part of our ongoing mission to disseminate best available medical evidence, independent content on our websites may occasionally discuss uses for products or devices that are not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration or appropriate regulating body, or that are investigational in nature. Such uses will be noted at each instance.

Independent content on our websites is labeled as being created by KnowledgePoint360. This content is paid for in part with support from pharmaceutical and/or device manufacturers, and other interested parties. Supporters provide unrestricted funding to KnowledgePoint360 website communities. Funds toward website communities are not in direct support of specific content or our Education Council Members. As such, financial supporters do not exert any control or influence on content that is created. Financial support of our communities allows supporters the opportunity to fund independent, multi-supported ad-hoc programs and activities, such as webcasts and case studies. Multi-supported programs and activities are created by KnowledgePoint360 without control or influence from the multi-supporters and are labeled as "Made Possible By."

Third-party Sponsored Content

Third-party sponsored content is developed by or under the discretion of the sponsor and is not subject to editorial review by KnowledgePoint360.

A seasoned team of medical editors and writers is responsible for creating original independent and/or sponsored content on KnowledgePoint360 websites. Editors and writers who create independent content are kept distinctly separate from those who work on sponsored content—no Editorial staff member will serve in both capacities within the same therapeutic area. Qualifications, financial disclosures, and potential conflicts of interest are provided for all Editorial staff who create content.

Education Councils
KnowledgePoint360 works with preeminent thought leaders and educators spanning myriad therapeutic areas to create high-quality, scientifically rigorous independent content. Working closely with our Editorial staff, our Education Councils provide guidance for the creation of independent content based on practice gaps identified during our comprehensive needs assessment. Our Education Councils also review independent content to ensure balance, objectivity, scientific rigor, and accuracy. This is in addition to the peer review that is also conducted for our original content.

Editorial Content Limitations
