SPOTLIGHT: innovative patient-education materials. FACTS ABOUT… is the NLEC’s newest advance into patient education. An informative and reader-friendly page filled with easy-to-understand facts and specifics, FACTS ABOUT… details everything your patients should know about specific topics that can affect their cardiovascular quality of life. Topics will be added throughout the year, enabling you and your staff to continually enhance patient understanding of particular health issues. The first two topics are cholesterol and hypertension, and can be found on the website in the “Helpful Resources” section under “Patient-Education Materials.” Download the PDF file for a color version ready to be copied and distributed. Knowledgeable patients should make healthier lifestyle choices.

	LipidManagement™ Newsletter: All quarterly newsletter issues are available for reading on-line or for downloading. You can also take the end-of-the-year posttest for CME credit. The patient-education page, Considering Cholesterol, has become a must-have for busy offices and clinics. Included in every issue of LipidManagement, this page gives patients a better understanding of their diagnosis and treatment, without having to take up your time. Download it, photocopy it, and distribute it to your patients during their office visits.
	Interactive Case Studies: Our lineup of interactive case studies keeps growing! We now have five series—that’s 10 different and informative cases—available for CME credit. Keep checking back often; this year, we’ll introduce more interactive cases, plus something new—virtual cases. Stay tuned for information on these.
	Current Literature: Read current abstracts on important cardiovascular-related topics. Links to full-text articles are available with most. Look up a keyword and go directly to a topic of your choice.
	CD-ROMs: You will hear educational presentations in an interesting format from NLEC council members and guest faculty. You’ll also receive CME credit. Now on-line: Exploring the Continuum of CHD Risk. Coming soon: Evolving Issues in the Management of CHD.
